Project Pontsteiger is the tallest residential building of Amsterdam and rises with 90 meter out of water in the IJ canal. This unique location is north west of the city center of Amsterdam in a large scale redevelopment area called De Houthavens (Woodharbors) area. This luxury residential housing project hosts 366 apartments, 1400m² commercial real estate, 500 underground parking places, and a marina for 40 yachts north west of the center of Amsterdam. The complete top floor is once sold for more than 15 million euro as the most expensive apartment in the Netherlands. The building is surrounded by water and shaped as an arch. The building is lifted on pillars so the ground level will can used for retail and is open for public. The development ánd the construction is done by a consortium of the two companies De Nijs and Dura Vermeer. From there a long list of designers, engineers, co-makers, sub-contractors and suppliers worked on this large project to make it successful. The project is known in the Netherlands as one of the most openBIM coordinated project and sets a new standard for construction engineering. The (re-)design started in April 2014, the construction on site started in October 2015, first residents moved in on the 2nd of May 2018 and the total construction will be finished end 2018.
